We’ve reached the last class in this chapter 2 evergreen pool review. After Guardian, the Seeker, the Rogue and the Mystic, it’s time to look at the Survivor — arguably the class with the most distinctive design philosophy in the game. Where the other classes define themselves through what they do best, Survivors define themselves by how they endure in spite of it all.

Chapter 2 Class Spotlight: Mystic

In this fourth installment of the Chapter 2 evergreen pool review, we turn to the class the manual describes as deliberately, recklessly self-destructive: the Mystic. We apply the same lens used on the Guardian, the Seeker, and the Rogue — what does the manual promise, and what does the card pool actually deliver?

What the Manual Says

The manual describes Mystics as “drawn like moths to the flame, they risk both body and soul in order to harness the strength of the supernatural for their own ends.” Where the Guardian is described in terms of duty, and the Seeker in terms of curiosity, the Mystic is defined by recklessness — power as a choice with consequences.

Chapter 2 Class Spotlight: Rogue

In this third installment of the Chapter 2 evergreen pool review, let’s put the Rogue class under the same lens we’ve applied to the Guardian and the Seeker. How does the Chapter 2 Core Manual characterize the class, and how does the card pool — across the Core Set and André Patel’s Evergreen deck — actually realize it?

Chapter 2 Class Spotlight : Seeker

Now that the entire evergreen pool is out, let’s put the Seeker class under the same lens we applied to the Guardian last time. How does the Chapter 2 Core Manual characterize the class, and how does the card pool — across the Core Set and Carolyn Fern’s Evergreen deck — actually realize it?

Chapter 2 Class Spotlight : introduction

The Chapter 2 of Arkham Horror: The Card Game has fully launched. The Core Set and all five evergreen investigator decks are out, and we now have a complete, self-contained starting environment — what is now called the Chapter 2 Current card pool, the player cards that will be in consideration for the lifespan of Chapter 2.

Before further rotating content starts taking Chapter 2 in various directions, it’s worth stepping back and look at this pool on its own terms. The designers stated that Chapter 2 was the chance to rebalance and reposition the identities of each class, so we can now evaluate the pool against those design goals.

Chapter 2 Class Spotlight: Guardian

Now that the entire evergreen pool is out, it’s interesting to check how the Core 2026 manual characterizes the Guardian class versus how the class is implemented through its evergreen pool, in terms of card design and archetypes across the Chapter 2 core and Tommy Muldoon’s Evergreen deck.

What the Manual Says

In the Chapter 2 Core manual, guardians are described as “team players who favor combat, protecting their fellow investigators, and building an arsenal for the next big confrontation.” It goes on to spell out that they support as well as fight, tanking hits for others and healing damage when needed.
